Well what a day. This month I introduced a new game structure for the whole day. It changed from the usual three games of £22, £33 and £55 to two games of £55 each. The first being a freezeout with 7k start chips and the second being the usual £55 double chance. A later start time of 3pm was also implemented. This didn't stop Dazza from being late though. Some excuse about being lost or something......
Anyways, the first game got underway at approx 3.15pm. Second hand i get AA. Raise to 250, Jon calls and we see a flop of 9JK. Obviously Jon has flopped a straight with his shitty QT and I am out second hand of the first tournament. Marvleous. So I am dealing for the rest of the competition then?? Yes, yes you are Ali.
I spend the next 3 hours dealing and running around after everyone picking up mess (nothing new there then) and Buzz mentioned that as there were four people out we should start up a cash game which was agreed upon by myself, Bill, George and Nigel. Nothing serious, just a friendly little £20 buyin jobbie. Ye right! Most of the chips ended up in front of Bill and his new found love of 3 or 4 card irish left him about £100 up on the cash game. Nigel at one point borrowed money to stay in the game and George was winning a bit too if I recall correctly. Dazza sat down too and at one point people were going all-in in the tournament, just to get a seat in the cash game. You know who you are.
The first game finished up at approx 8pm and we started the next game pretty quickly. Ordered takeout for those that wanted it and continued the second game. I actually managed to stay in for more than 2 hands and even made it to the final table - woohoo!
One key moment in the day (ok not really a key moment but it was funny) was when Emily was seen to be eating Houmus that Buzz had bought especially to eat with some pita breads, as he wasn't eating takeout. Fingers were pointed and words were had and people were made to feel guilty, and buzz ended up with only half a tub of houmus, having lost the rest to numerous others. He sulked a little, but i'm sure he'll get over it in a few years.
I also took a few piccies as requested by Emily, who started taking pictures on her phone in order for me to put them up on the site. It's OK Em, I do have a camera ya know.
All in all, I had a great day, even with all the hard work and bad beats. Looking forward to the October game.
