Firstly, apologies for lack of game reports for the past 3 months. The main reason is that the game has had the same 7 or 8 players and there's been nothing new to report.

This month we welcomed two new players to the home game. Chris Szuca came along for the first game and Jason Quince came along with Richard Yeeles (who had not been able to make the game for some months due to work commitments) and they both played the last two games.

Both newbie's settled in nice and quick, which isn't difficult with the regulars making them feel at home.

The day starts as it has done every home game these past few months: I stick a pizza in the oven ready for Brian's' arrival and then jump in my car and crawl through Leighton Buzzard and it's marvelous traffic towards Linslade, where Heidi is waiting (well sometimes she's waiting sometimes she's not!) at the train station. We then make our way back where most people have already arrived and are already questioning why Brian always gets pizza and they don't.

We make our way up the two flights of stairs to the poker room and as we draw for seat positions, Dazza starts to load up a plate with his first helping of food which included a cheese and onion pasty, salad with nice strong onions and cheese balls. Very cheesey and very oniony! As we take our seats - Dazza takes up an extra space at the table with his side table and lovingly places his plate of food down.

The cards are in the air and the first hand is dealt. Dazza just passes through most of the first level - sometimes without even looking at his cards, there's a cheese and onion medley to get through after all. Sometimes a hand takes his fancy and he raises and nicks the blinds.

First plate of food consumed, we can now all shuffle round the table and get a bit more room and don't have to keep telling Dazza when it's his time to deal/cut/shuffle/look at his cards. By now it's the end of the third level and there is a call for a cigarette break - usually from Dazza! The smokers go out to the garden for their smokes and it's not long before we are back in our seats and ready to play. But wait - someone is missing from the table. Where is Dazza? Oh it's ok - he's right behind me at the food area, getting his second plate of food. A pattern forms over the next hour or so, pretty much the same as the first hour of the game.

Dazza then goes thru the day, eating his cheese and onion feast and dishing out bad beat after bad beat and telling everyone to just look at the league table and read down the names, starting at the top. At one point he flops trip 4s and is betting out on the flop, turn and river and he rivers quad 4s vs. Richard, who calls all the way. Before Richard announces his hand, Dazza says "are quads good?" with the smuggest look on his face. Richard mucks his hand and when asked what he had he says "I had an 8". Laughter rings round the room as people start to ask if there was even an 8 on the board - no one can confirm or deny this.

The rest of the day pans out as normal. I end up dealing after being knocked out early from each game.

At one point while I was dealing heads up in the last game, Dazzas arse springs to life and lets out the most awful stench (which amuses him). Everyone in the room ran, literally. There was a stampede for the door as everyone tried to escape to the clean air of the ground floor. After 10 minutes a few of us return to see if it is safe to enter. I begin to deal again and within a few hands, he strikes again. Again, we all run for cover as we hear Dazza shouting at us from a distance "come back, it's not that bad!!"

The last game finally manages to end and those brave enough to stay, start up a cash game. Half Pot Limit HORSE is the game of choice. We play 'til the early hours and gain an hour as the clocks go back. By 3.30am the last few people were gone and all that was left to do was tidy up and make up the bed for Heidi. Inevitably, we stay up chatting 'til 6.30am and put the world to rights, before we drag ourselves off to bed.

The end of another fantastic day. It's hard work but I do enjoy it and look forward to it every month.

Here's looking forward to the next one - which happens to be the cheesey main event of the year, The World Series Of Cheese. Don't miss it!

One final note: although this report is mostly about Dazza, I must mention my other loyal players who were not mentioned earlier in this report, who month after month, never let me down. Thanks to Buzz, Sheriff, Heidi, Bryan, Nigel and John for making the day memorable.
